Epara is a London-based luxury skincare brand founded by Ozohu Adoh. Epara means "to cocoon oneself" in the Nigerian dialect of Ebira. Epara is a collection of scientifically proven, luxury skincare products handcrafted to address the under-served needs of women of color (e.g. hyperpigmentation).
I recently learned about Epara skincare on Instagram. I immediately fell in love with the sophisticated, minimal brand aesthetic. I mean, look how beautiful this packaging is!
The first product I bought to try is the Natural Cleansing Oil. The cleansing oil reduces hyperpigmentation, regulates sebum, softens skin, and reduces irritation. The main ingredients include licorice root extract (for brightening), plankton extract (for hyperpigmentation), Moringa oil, Marula oil, and Argan oil.
Since trying the Epara cleansing oil, I have been using it almost daily. It feels very luxurious, has a subtle woody, spicy scent, and is very gentle on my skin. After massaging it into my face for a minute (or longer, depending on how I feel!) I emulsify with water, then rinse off. I love that it rinses clean off and leaves no residue behind. My skin feels clean and smooth and soft. I have dry skin (more normal/combo during the summer), and I think this would work on oilier skin types because I would only be able to use this oil during summer. I need something a bit richer in colder weather.
I highly recommend trying out Epara and, specifically, this cleansing oil. It has become a favorite staple in my everyday skincare routine.
